Well I have been talking to Edco and he has been very helpful as to pointing me to some good links and resources as well as explaining the basics of race creation. I'm going to be working on a new race, preferably a paladin, with skills as follows: Hammer of Justice - Chance of double damage on hit. Holy Light - Chance to blind the player for a time on hit. Devotion Aura - Increases health and armor incrementally per level. (Ultimate) Divine Intervention - Small chance to resurrect teammate on successful kill by headshot.
I've played warcraft for quite a while so these skills names should be in the general ballpark of corresponding to what they do. But any ideas or input is very welcome and I really have no idea how long this will take but it shouldn't be too long.

im really diggin it, except for the binding light one. if its maxed out, you'd blind anyone you hit, i assume. That would be crazy, unless it was a partial blindness. maybe the ability should have a chance to force player to reload their weapon? now THATS a good idea, even if it isnt for pallies wow.

Looks good, although, instead of Devotion Aura giving armor (which is useless) How about adding a damage reduction % to it? Say, at max level (8) it blocks 20% of all incoming damage?

The double damage on hit might be a little bit of overkill here... A typical shot does around 30-40 damage to everything put the head, double that to about 60-80, and depending on how 'high' the chances are, you're in for some major damage (esspecially when spraying with something like the p90, lots of small damage per second doubled.) Perhaps the chance could remain the same, but increase the % per level? Like 10%, 20%, 30%, 40 etc, up to 80. Lower then 100 but still more effective... ;D Just throwing out suggestions.

it sounds nice, but too powerful, hammer of justice would be too powerful, so the % chance would be low, making it kinda pointless and just pain in the ass random (like getting a HS while jumping) and would just piss the receiver of it off. Maybe have it do 50% more damage at max level, and decrease the % it happens and the % damage bonus for lower levels. Holy Light is just unfair, even partial blindness can completely block your view of an enemy, especially an invisible rogue/human. Maybe have it do some damage over time and make a white pillar of light come down on the player for the duration, so at max level it might do 25-35 damage over 10 seconds (to keep it fair) and maybe have it do some minimal healing over 10 seconds as well (10-20). devotion aura sounds perfect, but make the armor increase an aura, that would keep adding armor slowly (like shadow hunter heal) for maybe up to 180 or 200. For divine intervention, i think that on death (like suicide bomber) it should resurrect 1 teammate excluding yourself randomly, they would respawn with 90 hp and 90 armor at max level, decreasing by 10 each for lower levels, starting amount depends on how many levels pally is gonna be. Just some suggestions, it's your race so you can do whatever you want, only thing that I strongly disagree with is Holy Light, I just don't see how it could ever work effectively.

There was a Paladin class on the old suicidal WC3 server, and one of the skills for it was that the paladin could heal teammates by typing in their 4 digit status number in chat, and the more the ability was leveled up, the more times they could heal people.
